Oklahoma Land for Sale
There is land for sale in all 50 states, so what is so special about Oklahoma land for sale? For one thing, within the state a person can find some the lowest priced scenic land in the nation, consisting of tree-covered, rolling hills with streams and ponds. For another thing, there are probably fewer bureaucratic regulations regarding the use of land in Oklahoma than there are in any other state in the Union.
In 1889, 50,000 people joined in a massive stampede to stake claims to two million acres of “unoccupied” land in the Indian Territory, almost overnight creating the Territory of Oklahoma. In 1907, Oklahoma was admitted to the Union as the 46th state. In 1912, New Mexico and Arizona were admitted, completing the contiguous 48 states.
There are three very interesting and unique facts about the State of Oklahoma that few people are probably aware of.
- It is the only state in the Union to hold the 19th Century capitals of four sovereign nations (Cherokee, Chickasaw, Choctaw, and Creek) within its borders.
- The state has more man-made lakes than any other state in the Union, with a greater shoreline than the Atlantic and Gulf Coasts combined.
- More astronauts (Gordon Cooper, Shannon Lucid, Owen Garriott, William Reed Pogue, and Thomas P. Stafford) have come from Oklahoma than any other state.
There are many real estate investment opportunities in the United States, but acquiring a scenic tract of Oklahoma land for sale, at a cheap price and with beneficial purchase terms, can prove to be very rewarding in future years.
